Support Services

Support Services are services that provide assistance to people with end stage renal disease to enable them to live their lives as normally as possible. These services include financial assistance, like helping to pay rent or utility bills that you are unable to pay because you may be unable to work due to your current health conditions.

In addition, assistance providing transportation to and from your dialysis treatments may be available, depending on the area you live in. Every state has its own requirements and insurance coverage guidelines. A list of guidelines from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) can be found here, or by calling CMS at 800-633-4227.

Counseling support services, vocational rehabilitation, and physical rehabilitation are all examples of support services that may be available to you. Talk to your social worker about your eligibility for receiving these services and to learn more.
